Vivamo - a place for prayer and rest
Picture: Vivamo Quiet Garden
Situated by Lohjanjärvi (Lake Lohja), Vivamo was established in the 1920's as a place for prayer and retreats.
Today it offers facilities for conferences, courses, seminars and holiday camps. Since 1958, Vivamo has also been known in Finland as a popular place for confirmation camps for 14-15 year old Finnish youths.
Vivamo is open all year round, and you may come here also just to rest and relax in the beautiful natural surroundings. A private beach - with separate saunas for men and women on opposite sides of the bay - adds to the summer enjoyment. In the winter, when it is cold, skiing or walking on the lake ice may be a unique experience.
The heart of Vivamo is it's Church of the Broken Heart. Lutheran Worship services are held on Sundays year around. It is also home for the Vivamo Prayer Service receiving prayer requests from all of over Finland.
In 2003, a small stone chapel, the St. Birgitta (Bridget) Chapel, was dedicated in the rocky Vivamo peninsula, also known as the Quiet Peninsula.
The first in the Nordic Countries was opened in Vivamo in 2007. Today Vivamo is owned by and also houses the headquarters of Kansan Raamattuseura (Logos Ministries of Finland), Training Center for Evangelism, Vivamo Institute and Vivamo Bible Village.
You are warmly welcome!
